welcome

Hi, we're Modern Vintage. We love weddings, we love love & we love to sing while we set up. Our favorite part of the day is watching you, as a new couple, walk back down the aisle after the ceremony. That feeling of elation & pure joy is why we do what we do.

DIYF: Pamper Party!

Jun 15

After a hard week of work, event planning, school or any of the other activities that keep us swamped throughout the week, we deserve some good pampering, don’t we? Yes, yes we do. I’d love to take a soak in a huge tub with a glass of wine and relax. Now if only everyone had a TV in their bathroom like so many of the families on TV in the 80s had. You could flip that big 13-channel dial right over to TGIF and enjoy…

Below are a few simple tutorials on how to make some bath/body products to share as favors at your next ladies night or to just for giving yourself the pampering you deserve.

This Post on Tip Junkie shares 14 different ways to make a homemade sugar scrub. I’ve personally tried the second version (shown in the photo below) and it was super easy and works like a charm!  I did a blend of orange and vanilla extracts in mine and blended just the tiniest drops of red and yellow food coloring to give it a little bit of an orange tint. Love!

Martha Stewart shares this recipe for making homemade bath fizzies in different colors and scents. Other than the citric acid, most people have all the ingredients for these around the house.

This Cucumber and Cranberry Face Mask from Craftbits.com sounds so refreshing. And maybe kinda yummy too.

I’ve really been wanting to try making my own lip gloss lately. My lips are terribly addicted to gloss and without it they will be cracked, dry horrors in a matter of hours. Cheeky Kitchen has a great recipe for homemade Kiss Gloss that will have your smackers drinking in the goodness in no time.

I’ve also seen recipes for gloss that are simply petroleum jelly mixed with kool-aid. Sounds yummy. For a more tinted wax, you can mix petroleum jelly with lipstick like in Blushing Basics’ tutorial.

Enjoy your weekend and don’t forget to pamper yourself!

For you Nashvillians, we will also be pampering ourselves with handmade goodness at tomorrow’s Porter Flea at Marathon Music Works. So excited to check out all the goodies!
