Getting to Know Us: Thanksgiving Edition

Happy Black Friday!  Today is a giant shopping day full of crowds and lines and all things gift giving.  (And hopefully a trip to Target if we’re lucky.)We love the holiday season, beginning with Thanksgiving (well Halloween really…maybe Labor Day). We love the joy it brings, the time with family and the warmth of just loving people that the season allows.

We did the important task of answering mindless and fun holiday questions.  They may not all be holiday related but they are all fun! Pull up a chair, pour yourself a glass of Prosecco and hang out for a bit.

Jessie:

• Who is your girl crush? Celebrity of otherwise.

  Zoe Deschanel for her quirky personality and fashion sense. Pretty sure if we met, we’d be instant besties. Also Michelle Obama.

• What is your favorite Thanksgiving food?

  Sweet potato casserole with extra marshmallows

• Do you think the Pilgrims served turkey at the first Thanksgiving?

  I like to think so. Along with sweet potatoes and stuffing. Hopefully they had a good event planner 😉

• Black Friday shopping: yes or no? why?

  100% no. I’d rather eat glass.

• What is your favorite piece of clothing?

  Currently anything velvet with my ripped black jeans. I also have like 10 pairs of Tom’s. Still the most comfy shoes ever.

• If you could go anywhere in the world tomorrow where would it be?

  My current obsession is with the Cinque Terre in Italy and I have a trip planned there for May. Close second is India.

• What are you listening to right now?

David Bowie radio. I always. I always come back to Bowie.

• What would be your first question after waking up from being cryogenically frozen for 100 years?

  Where’s the Prosecco?

Becca:

• Who is your girl crush? Celebrity of otherwise.

  Definitely Zooey Deschanel. She is my style spirit animal and I see her wearing clothes from ModCloth, which makes me happy. I also may or may not love her character Jess from New Girl.

• What is your favorite Thanksgiving food?

  Wine…followed closely by broccoli casserole.  Does the Thanksgiving afternoon nap count as a favorite food?

• Do you think the Pilgrims served turkey at the first Thanksgiving?

  I really should have paid more attention to US History. Sorry mom! (My mom was a history teacher.)  Sure? Question Mark?  I assume wild turkeys were in abundance then.  (P.S. I looked this up and it appears they served “water fowl” as well as turkey!)

• Black Friday shopping: yes or no? why?

  A definite no. Black Friday is much more suited for sleeping in and watching Gilmore Girls in bed.  Once, when the first Wii came out, my husband and I stood in line at Best Buy to try to get one. We got up while it was still dark and cold and got in line with all the other schmucks folks waiting in line. Alas, we gave up about halfway through and aborted the mission.  The Wii could wait.

• What is your favorite piece of clothing?

  So my favorite color is mustard yellow.  I am drawn to anything and everything mustard.  I have this mustard dress (I know you guys have seen it) that I have had for a few years and it stays in my favorite dress category.  I may or may not also have a dress fetish. I let myself by one new dress a season because if I went with my instinct I would buy a new dress every week.

• If you could go anywhere in the world tomorrow where would it be?

  This is so hard because I suffer from a constant state of wanderlust. I want to go all the places.  I think at the top of the list is New Zealand.  After watching the making of The Lord of the Rings (yeah, this has been going on for awhile) and seeing how beautiful New Zealand is it crept up to the top of the list.

• What are you listening to right now?

  Christmas music. I was seriously trying to squeeze it in before Thanksgiving but now that it is socially acceptable I am all in.  I have a Christmas mix on Spotify that definitely has The Grinch song on it.

• What would be your first question after waking up from being cryogenically frozen for 100 years?

  Is Ellen DeGeneres president?  And more importantly, can I get a glass of water?
