Last spring we did a party for a First Communion. It was a party for a few kids and the parents wanted a fun, laid back atmosphere. They were having a formal brunch that afternoon but the evening was time to celebrate! We came up with a barbecue theme since the party was in one of the parent’s back yard. We made cupcake toppers (thanks to Party Paper Creations), signs with mini pennant banners on them, a wreath, and very tall, very top heavy candy topiaries. I realized that bigger is not better when it comes to those, taller kind of makes them like the leaning tower of Pisa. We put together a fun dessert table and it was a party!
I was pretty jealous and wish I could have attended because they set up a huge screen where the kids could play wii or watch movies. They also had a nice heated pool that was calling my name. We loved the way the party details came out!
My friend Melissa with Meme’s Mini Cakes and Pies did the cupcakes and they were so cute. She made cookies and cream, cherry limeade and strawberry lemonade. She also made us some whoopie pies. How can you not be excited when you have Jesus, candy and whoopie pies in the same day?
Go enjoy these beautiful spring days and Easter week! That is an order, kinda.
