welcome

Hi, we're Modern Vintage. We love weddings, we love love & we love to sing while we set up. Our favorite part of the day is watching you, as a new couple, walk back down the aisle after the ceremony. That feeling of elation & pure joy is why we do what we do.

Katie + Brian’s Din-o-fabulous Wedding

Feb 5

Love.  Above all things, Katie and Brian’s wedding day was full of love. It is obvious that these two love and look out for each other but it is also obvious that their families and friends share this love.  I truly wish I had video taped their ceremony because it was the most gracious, open outpouring of love, not only between Katie and Brian, but for all people that I have seen in a long time.  Katie’s (awesome) aunt married them, they read their own vows and their fur baby, the pup dog, delivered their rings.   Creativity was the second most prominent factor. When we met with them they told us their theme was dinosaurs and we were pumped. (I saw Jurassic Park in the movie theater five time, just sayin.)  We incorporated their love for nature and some pretty sweet gold and silver dinos while bringing in the colors from the mid-century modern atomic ranch home they share.

Katie and Brian did a few things differently, they had games and a beer for the guests when they arrived before the ceremony. They wanted to really set the tone as a fun, laid back celebration. The response cards from the invitations, which doubled as table numbers, were decorated by their guests as they sent them back in with RSVPs.  They depicted a pterodactyl, which many of their guests personalized.  Their friends and family watched from across a creek as they said their vows.  Many people ended up wading in the creek later. That is a good night!  They brought in the talents of their friends to emcee and Brian’s dad to run the sound.  Katie’s sister put together their beautiful flowers.  There was good food, tears (the happy kind), laughter and some pretty sweet karaoke.  All in all, a night of dynamic proportions.
