Last spring, while our website was being built we decided to do a styled shoot to both get some great design photos and some pictures of us for the site. We chose a spot beside Miller’s Grocery in Christiana for the location since it is so stinkin pretty out there. And they have a very cool old truck parked on the property that we just had to use.
We went for a romantic outdoor look with a vintagey feel. Chris and Adrienne Scott worked their magic behind the camera to help us achieve our goal. We love to be crafty, so we made several of the items in our shoot ourselves. In the weeks before, we spray painted the metal chairs used at the table and made cushions for each of them. The cupcake stand we made out of hat box lids from Hobby Lobby. We also had a marathon paper flower making session for all the pretties up the tree. We both love words and old books and like to use them in our designs by of accordion flowers from old book pages and our cupcake toppers.
We also love to include real vintage elements into our design, such as the coke bottles and crates up on the truck and the typewriter on the table. These belonged to Becca’s grandparents and we felt that they not only helped bring together the feel of the shoot, but also are the perfect way to incorporate meaningful family memories into our design.
Miller’s provided the perfect simple country backdrop to our shoot. And I’m not gonna lie, we tore into some Sunday Brunch with Chris and Adrienne afterwards. These kinda things make you work up an appetite, ya know?
