I had a lot of fun with this project. It was for Jessie’s modern woodland/triangle shower. I love this and really want one for my office. A lot. (P.S. the photo above is professional, the rest are amateur photos taken by me as I did this project late in the evening…)
Tools:
- Scissors
- Cricut (if you don’t want to cut the triangles by hand)
- Ribbon, decorative string or twine (I found mine in the sewing section at Hobby Lobby)
- 10″ embroidery hoop
- Spray Paint
- Scrapbook Paper
- Hot glue gun
I started by cutting out all my triangles with the Cricut. I set them about 2″ but you could cut them at any size you wanted. I was able to cut 10 triangles per page. I cut about 70 triangles but did not use that many. I had a helper to peel them off the sheets. (That is until Pokemon came on.)
Next, I measured the length I wanted my string (about two feet) and cut string to fit around the embroidery hoop. (About 17 strings) If this were actually going to hang over a crib I would not have cut the sting nearly that long. I spray painted the hoop and after it was dry I tied the string through the central part of the hoop and knotted it.
After this, I put a thin line of hot glue right down the middle of the triangle and glued them onto the string. I glued most of them with the point facing down and then every third strand I did the point facing up.
When that was finished, voila, I had a fun, modern and funky mobile. (That I still really want. a lot.)
See, told you it would make DJ proud!
