We love planning a party with a theme. When that theme involves France and raising money for one of our favorite children’s museums we are so in! Each year we get to help The Discovery Center plan their annual fundraiser, The Secret Garden Party. This year we are really excited to be back in person celebrating and fundraising together!
“A Stroll by the Seine”. For the party we are pulling heavily from French influence. Imagine you are meandering through Montmartre and taking in the scenery, the food and experiences. We want to recreate the atmosphere of a walk down a boulevard in France with stations that feel like “street vendors” or small cafes with sections of seating that allow guests to tuck in and enjoy their “nourriteure et boisson”. (Food and drink). Guests can stroll through the stations for French inspired cuisine and then make a stop at the boulangerie for macarons and crepes. We imagine music playing, sketch artists stationed to capture the guests, a flower vendor to hand-craft bouquets and libations inspired by early 20th century France.
We are working with a very talented committee and group of vendors to put together an event we are SO excited about. (I mean, we are so giddy. We want to be guests.) We pulled some of those same vendors together for a shoot to highlight some elements of the party, including the food, the wine and a live auction.
When we start talking about a theme and a design for an event we really try to get creative. We want the guests attending to not only support the organization but to have an amazing time and feel inspired by and excited about the event. Experiences really tie into the overall feeling for the guests so we focused pretty strongly on the interactions, the sights and the tastes for the party.
When brainstorming we tried to think about the things you would see as you stroll through Paris. (We also may or may not be “traveling” vicariously through the planning of this party. ) We thought about the foods, a boulangerie, rotisserie and patisserie, and themed our stations after those. We also considered beverages and are bringing in a truck to serve libations on the street. What big city street is complete without entertainment? We imagine guests grabbing a hand-tied bouquet of flowers while listening to a jazz band and having their portrait sketched by an artist.
Creating an event for a client with their mission or company in mind is one of our FAVORITE things to do. We love talking about the goals and then crafting an experience for the guest that leaves them excited to contribute and to keep coming back and supporting the organization. We are truly excited about the party this year and grateful to help a museum that fuels creativity and science through play.
If you are in Middle Tennessee and want to attend on Friday, June 4, 2021 you can purchase tickets here!
We are so grateful for the committee and amazing vendors on board who are bringing this event to life. Don’t worry, we’ll share a full recap with you!
