Sometimes you work on something and the stars just align. That is how I felt with this shoot. As the sun went down the day we shot I sat in the grass and looked at the lights and the table and I felt excited, I felt like I wanted to attend or throw this party. I could just imagine the food, fellowship and merrymaking that would go along with a party like this.
Our inspiration for this shoot came from Sam, the venue owner’s, daughter and her husband. One night they came home from Spain, where they are missionaries, and they brought wine, cheese and tapas and laid them out on the table. This lends itself for conversation and fellowship. We really wanted to show that in a way that could be tangible for a small or large wedding or for a party. We wanted an upscale feel with the ambiance of dining in Europe with the people you love and the experiences that come along with a night of laughter. We pulled from the natural elements that go along with wine, grapes and vines and used the rich burgundies and purple colors that accompany those. For the couple, we wanted a very classy, elopement feel. We wanted to show the excitement and love. The models were actually getting married the weekend we shot so those feelings were genuine. Once the lights went down there was truly a magical quality to the intimacy of the event.
