Wedding cake is one of my not so secret pleasures. I mean, I LOVE the stuff. But, although fondant can make a cake look beautiful, let’s be honest, it’s not exactly tasty. So, I am loving this new trend of stripping all that gummy, chewy cover right off and letting your cake go, erm, commando. I think the effect looks absolutely gorgeous and for those of you icing lovers, there is still plenty of room for that yummy sweetness in between the layers.  We had the pleasure of trying a naked cake at a wedding several months ago and it was just as delicious as it was lovely.  Here are a few of my favorite naked cakes.
