welcome

Hi, we're Modern Vintage. We love weddings, we love love & we love to sing while we set up. Our favorite part of the day is watching you, as a new couple, walk back down the aisle after the ceremony. That feeling of elation & pure joy is why we do what we do.

Venue Spotlight: Samary Plantation

Feb 21

Recently I had the pleasure of visiting Samary Plantation in Eagleville, TN. I know what you are thinking, where in the world is Eagleville?  It is about 20 minutes from Franklin or Murfreesboro.  Believe me, this 20 minute drive is worth it to have your wedding (or event) at the gorgeous Samary Plantation.

Mary and Sam Tune are the owners and Mary met me there one day to show me around.  They live in the antibellum house on the grounds.  There are four guest houses you can rent for family and out of town guests ranging from a perfect groomsman pad to a bridesmaid haven.  Each house is fully equipped for a weekend stay.  The largest house (for the girls of course) has amazing stone floors that were originals in the house.

Ok, enough about where to sleep.  Nestled in rolling hills, the plantation house has so many nooks and crannies and places to hold a ceremony.  There is space for an intimate wedding or a larger affair.  The drive as you enter is absolutely amazing, even in the winter.  It is lined with trees and I can only imagine how beautiful it is when the trees are full of leaves.  I don’t have to imagine too much because there is a photo below.  Receptions are held in the Carriage House, which has a rustic chandelier and some grand vintage doors.  They have authentic carriages that can be used in the space or moved out.  There is also a garage type door that is perfect for loading in or for a food truck!  Next to the carriage house is space for outdoor tables or a tent for larger parties.

Sam and Mary are very flexible and will work with wedding parties.  The venue is available all day so you don’t have to worry about feeling rushed.  They are also constantly making changes and improvements.  Next to the Carriage House is a really cool building with more antiques than a flea market.  These are the personal antiques that the Tunes have collected their entire lives.  I was in vintage heaven.  The good news is that the bathrooms are in this building so you and your guests will get to peek at all the amazing treasures they have.

In downtown Eagleville, hey it totally rivals downtown Nashville, the Tunes own a building that can be used for smaller events or rehearsal dinners.  It is charming and has exposed brick walls.  They had me at exposed brick.

I absolutely loved Samary Plantation and I can’t wait to plan a wedding there!

All the photos are from EE Photography and you can check out their blog about this wedding here. The wedding was planned by Decadent Details and they did an amazing job!

  1. This is my wedding!!! I can’t believe I stumbled upon this, I was actually looking for another publication and found your blog. I am glad Samary is getting recognized, when a friend told me about them I couldn’t find any blogs with pictures from weddings or events. I truly believe it is a hidden gem, they definitely made our dream wedding come true 🙂

Allison, I just love your wedding photos (and now your blog)! There is also a photo from the wedding in this month’s Murfreesboro Magazine. We did a venue list and they used a photo from your wedding of Samary!

      • Thanks so much Becca! I heard that our photos were used in the magazine (that is actually how I stumbled on this blog, I was searching for the online version of the magazine article.) Is there an online version? I actually live in Davidson county and I haven’t seen the February issue. I was thinking about contacting the magazine to see if I could get a copy.
